Nimali Serengeti Lodge
Experience the pinnacle of central safari elegance at Nimali Serengeti. Opened in July 2024, this boutique retreat offers unparalleled access to the "Big Cat Capital" of Africa, blending contemporary organic design with front-row views of the predator-rich Makoma Plain.
Details
Nimali Serengeti is an elegant, permanent tented camp that defines modern safari luxury. Strategically nestled in the Seronera region, the lodge’s design is a soulful homage to the migration motif. The interiors feature a palette of “skin and bone” colors and styling that underpin the design inspiration, blending contemporary flair effortlessly with organic textures.
The lodge features an expansive central lounge, dining area, and a stunning pool deck—offering more than enough space to relax between high-action game drives. Whether you are admiring the sophisticated décor or sharing tales by the fire pit, Nimali provides a fresh and stylish sanctuary in the heart of the Serengeti’s most active wildlife zone.
The Makoma Ridge
The lodge is superbly located near the beautiful Makoma Hill, serving as a centrally located base for exploring the famous game loops of the Seronera River Valley. Its position on the western edge of the valley ensures prime wildlife viewing throughout the year.
The Tactical Advantage:
- Unsurpassed Wildlife Access: Directly in front of the lodge lies the Makoma Plain, bordered by Makoma Hill to the west and the Seronera River to the east.
- Migration Crossroads: As a vital area of passage between wet and dry season ranges, Nimali is unbeatable when the migration thunders north (May/June) and south (November/December).
Predator Hotspot: The lodge overlooks the Thatch Kopjes, a commanding granite landmark used as a consistent den site by the large Makoma lion pride.
The Seronera Action Zones
Nimali Serengeti offers effortless access to the park’s most prestigious game-viewing circuits:
- The Makoma Game Loop: This rewarding circuit circles the Makoma Plain and the Thatch Kopjes. It is a famous hunting ground for lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The plains are a permanent home to large buffalo herds, while the wooded hill provides sanctuary for giraffe, elephant, and impala.
- The Seronera River Valley: Known as the “Park Place” of lion territories, this valley features the highest concentration of leopards in Africa. The river loops are lined with sausage trees, where leopards are frequently spotted lounging in the branches.
- The Secret Picnic Spot: Tucked behind Makoma Hill is a hidden gem—a secluded area well off the beaten path where guests can enjoy private bush lunches with giraffes browsing nearby and gazelles grazing below.
Modern Tented Suites
The lodge features 12 exclusive tented suites, designed to offer an authentic safari experience with a sophisticated, modern edge.
The Guest Experience:
